"Innovation is always the name of the game." This does not only hold true to technology but also to the food industry. With so many restaurants that offer authentic meals, value for money and pleasurable gastronomic experience, Balay sa Busay is never out of question.
The Homey Ambiance
Although the place is quite remote from the city center, Balay sa Busay equates itself to a rustic cool ambiance overlooking the city. The fresh mountain air reminded me of a perfect solitary hideaway. The high-ceilinged wall and white window decoratives drifted me back to my grandmother's abode. It has an overall impression of a comfortable home.
"Its simple icon subdued in a white bricked-wall"
"The huge wooden windows signify openness"
"Overlooking the hills and the metropolis"
"Diners really love this spot"
The Novel Way of Cooking
What I really meant for innovation is the magical recreation of our traditional Filipino delicacies. These include the merienda (snacks) we have grown to enjoy. Balay sa Busay has a way to present our favorite Filipino snacks with a delectable twist.
"Shakoy in Tsokolate"
"Palitaw with Yema"
"Your kind of Hamonada"
"Lechon Tinola in a traditional palayok"
"Chicharon Sisig ni Tatay"
As a professed fan of Filipino meal, I can staunchly express how traditional dishes are turned into something modern but still never loses their original flavor.
Something for Vegetarians
One that worries me everytime I am in a restaurant is the limited food choice of my kind of diet.
"Pinakbet"
Other than the usual "garden salad", I also wish for a savory plate. Regardless of one's diet, every diner has the pleasure to enjoy a meal.
"Top: Watermelon Salad; Bottom Right: Bisayang Adobo"
"Left: Vegetarian Rice; Right: Hot Chili Wings"
The menu in Balay sa Busay collectively caters for both meat-lovers and vegetarians. With that, it made my tummy happy and my experience unforgettable.
A Forthcoming Destination
Balay sa Busay primarily aims to be a gastronomic destination. Its wholly dedication of serving modernized Filipino food can become a culinary attraction in the coming days.
Personal Note:
During my afternoon merienda with the owner, I was surprised that she personally created and conceptualized all the dishes. Imagine, she isn't even a chef!
