Dolce Casa: The House of Real Italian Wine

Ooops! "Me" beg for using Dolce Casa's tagline: "The House of Real Italian Wine". Honestly, I couldn't think of a title by the time of writing. I had been squeezing my creative brain to give words of my fine experience in our 3rd day Cebu Food Crawl - Food Tour that I am beyond overwhelmed of the description. I couldn't even think of a note-worthy introduction so I am thinking of giving a short trivia quiz for wine lovers.

"Pick the Gelato of your choice"
Finally, were you able to get them right? I bet.
"There are six (6) noble grapes," said one of the personnel in Dolce Casa when he gave us a short background about wines. "The red grapes are Merlot, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon and the white ones are Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc," he continued. I was already at awe when I heard the Italian sounding names and even more participative when I knew some words in French (Blanc = white; Noir = Black). It is a tradition for Italians to pair wines with cantuccini.
"Which 'vino' suits you?"
Based from my previous knowledge about wines, "Wine Experts" or "Wine Sommelier" are tasked to taste at least 20 to 25 wines per day. They test them through the 5'S: See (Sight), Swirl, Smell, Swallow/Spit (spittoon is the container where they spit out their wine), and Savor. Bring in the imagination and senses, and "Venga!" we became a "wine sommelier" for a day in Dolce Casa when our goblets were filled-in one after next; red wine to white wine dipping cantuccini, picking olive and guiding it through our mouth. Chic and sensual, Dolce Casa brought us into an ambition of becoming wine sommeliers or if not, wine lovers.
"Chocolates and candies and some more sweets for treats!"
Dolce Casa serves not only wine but also gelato (ice cream) in different flavor - be it the chili Choco, the rainbow Bubblegum, and the dare-devil Straciatella. Over 120 assorted products are sold in different Dolce Casa branches; gummies, candies, liquors, coffee varieties, pasta, cookies, olive oils and marmalade. Dolce Casa's been creative with their menus as well. There is an affogato (coffee and ice cream), and a fortunello (ice cream sandwhich).
"Cheers!"
What was really entertaining during our food tour was the Q&A portion where bottles of red and white wines were given away as prizes. It was fun and festive for me because I had the chance to mingle with others. Grazie Mille, Dolce Casa and Cebu Food Crawl bloggers for a convivial wine tasting experience!
"A thousand thanks for the experience, Dolce Casa and Cebu Food Crawl"
