Classy Cebu Marriott Hotel and the Mango Overload

The island where I am staying  right now doesn't have any large-towering hotels nor fancy restaurants to stay-in overnight much for a dine-in. It is a humble place to relax where fisher folks are too contented to pass the night away with either a good story to tell under the moonlight or to watch the television until their favorite "telenovela" is done. However, bringing back the gist of city living heightens my desire to stay in a luxury hotel even once in my islander life, The privilege to step into a 4-star hotel is something that I am thankful about. Bring Cebu Marriott Hotel and this is the second stop of our Cebu Food Crawl.

Warm and Welcoming Hotel Hosts...
I fell under the spell of the welcoming hosts while we were still lining up to register our names. I already felt comfortable and at the same time, happy. I guess, the smiles they exhibited in their faces were contagious enough that they spread spontaneously in the function room.

I hanged-out with the others feeling the comfort enveloping us; loosening my tense muscles bit by bit. The hotel managers welcomed and introduced to us their hotel's features and services. It was indeed informative and inspiring how such a huge hotel branching in different places here and abroad could be so accommodating - adding up to safety and security where they installed an x-ray machine right at the entrance for the guests advantage. Cebu Marriott Hotel continuously aim for innovation and luxurious living.

Mango Mania Marathon
Once in my Biology class, I had the game of scientific names for my students to identify common plants and animals especially found in the Philippines. I remembered asking them the Scientific name of "mango". Mangifera indica is the Scientific name of the Philippine national fruit which is considered perennial. The abundance of this plant in the country is the main theme of the light snacks which Cebu Marriott Hotel sponsored during the Cebu Food Crawl.

"Mango Sago"
Cebu Marriott Hotel staff introduced different variety of desserts the fruit could be made into - mango tarts, mango shake, mango juice, mango sago, green mango with prawns, mango macaroons and mango together with the traditional sticky rice. It was pure mango delight!

Thoughts: I was happy for the gingerbread cookie and the bottled water they gave us as we continue our gastronomic journey for our Cebu Food Crawl. Plus the consolation prize of Club Marriott Member for a Day Card. Thank you, Cebu Marriott Hotel.
