Freedom at Lataban

“We are not made for the mountains, for sunrises, or for the other beautiful attractions in life - those are simply intended to be moments of inspiration. We are made for the valley and the ordinary things of life and that is where we have to prove our stamina and strength.” ― Oswald Chambers

Unlike any other climb, my Lataban Climb last June 12, 2018 was a remarkable one. It was a merge of different people with one common goal - to express freedom of what we love the most.

So right the Flag Raising Ceremony at the Municipal ground in Liloan, I invited my former teachers if they were interested to climb Lataban Hills. With a unison affirmation, we then made our way to Barangay Lataban.

Nature Walk. It was Apol's idea to take the children for a hike. I admittedly missed those children when we had our climb before in Sirao Peak. We were also joined by Rafael's group who were a great help for all of us.

The children were grouped into three. The teachers were assigned to a group to guide the chidren. I was the lead of the entire pack while Apol was the tail. The children were morw disciplined than we had our first climb. It was something very commendable.

We stopped at the hill and had a short storytelling by Rafael's group. While Apol and I busied ourselves for lunch. Though it was a short trek, the values that we imparted was the real freedom radiating to them.
