The Sounds of Victory in Mactan

"Kadaugan sa Mactan" is annually held every April 27 in Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City. It commemorates the first battle of the Filipinos against the Spanish invaders way back 1521. The courageous acts of the ancient Filipinos led by Chieftain Lapu-Lapu is an insignia on how we resist invasion and colonialism.

Instead of celebrating that victorious day once, it has now become a week-long festival. Kiosks serving palatable food from different restaurants and hotels in Mactan Island, the Rampada Festival (the idea is almost similar to that Carnival in Brazil), and concerts.

For this year, "The Sounds of Victory" Concert features Filipino artists to perform live in Mactan Newtown (at the Parking Area beside the Showroom). Renowned singer and songwriter, Barbie Almabis (former lead singer of Barbie's Cradle), The Dawn (considered as the longest-lived and prolific rock band in the Philipppines), Sheila and the Insects (an Indie Rock Band based in Cebu), Drive Me to Juliet, Jewel Villaflores and Break Offenders are what we expect to see this Friday, April 22, 2016. The concert begins at 7 P.M.

The concert is open for everyone.
*But prioritizing those who have minimum of 200 purchase per person at Mactan Newtown tenants/stores on the event date only.

So jam with us as we celebrate the 300+ decades of the first Filipino victory in the country.
See you!
