It was 2 days after my birthday that I insisted for a road trip together with my friends outside our city. The supposed goal to watch the sunset at the South Reclamation Project, Talisay City was unarguably impossible to do since my brother used the family car for an appointment earlier that same day. Not to my dismay, though late, we still pushed through what was already agreed upon to eat out somewhere in Minglanilla, the adjacent town next to Talisay and Basak.

"The group while waiting for our delectable halo-halo" |
It was totally fun since we had a tunnel breathing challenge. It was that moment when we will pass through the 1-km. subway and try to hold our breath as much as we can until we came up to the other end of the tunnel. It was one great fun while listening to the loud music while some of my friends were cracking jokes.

"Enjoying my halo-halo" |
Now, we were already speeding an 80-km./hr. speed along the SRP and tried to look for Melton's Halo-halo. I did not know that there was a food store that opens up til the wee hours lest serving a cold dessert. Anyway, we finally found it and viola! We had ourselves instant halo-halo.

"Pizza and halo-halo late at night" |
I had posted a different kind of halo-halo preparation before at the Razon's Restaurant but I could not get the sense why the Melton's Halo-halo is another remarkable food choice until I discovered their red colored banana. It took us, Apol and I, to distinguish its taste because it did not look like a banana at all. We later on found out that it was cooked and boiled then colored to look different and distinct from the already familiar Filipino dessert.

"Delicious Halo-halo" |
I should say that I had a satisfied tastebud after tasting it; and not only that, the price is genuinely not hefty for the serving and the taste. By the way, it comes with "special" and "super special" halo-halo menu. So, whatever fits you, I recommend the place for a good hunt of halo-halo if you want to stopover in Minglanilla for a ride down south or just food whoring for your heart's content. Just the perfect dessert this summer!
