Cheo Rum: Billed-out!

I was unbelievably hungry after work that I decided to head to a restaurant. However, none except one was still open at that hour of the night. Lights were reflecting on the glass walls and door so I opened it and glanced at the restaurant. 

I saw one foreign guy who was seated at the center area. Immediately, I asked him if the restaurant was still open. With a nod, it was a sign for me to get in and to feed my hunger. 

"My All-Time Favorite"

The place I was sitting in was near the foreigner. We were just one table apart. Then a Filipina food server approached me and handed me the menu. I had nothing in mind but to order the classic "Beef Bulgogi". 

"While waiting for my Bulgogi, I busied myself reading..."

It was served with three different sidings - a macaroni salad, taugi and kimchi. I added rice, as well. 

Then the customer asked me, "Are you working or living in Lapu-lapu?"

I answered him back, "I live in Lapu-lapu but I work in Cebu."

"I work and live here in Lapu-lapu," he added. 

"I see," was my short reply.

Then my order was served. The Bulgogi was simmering hot. It really looked delicious.  

I hurriedly helped myself with my order. It was more like satiating my hunger than minding how I eat. The beef was tender, sweet and succulent. The vermicelli noodles were neither too firm nor overcooked. Even though I was that hungry, I could identify the tastefulness of this Korean Beef Cuisine. 

"A dessert to finish the night"

The sidedishes complemented the main course. The taugi was, at least, fresh and crunchy while the kimchi was not totally spicy. The pepper paste (kujoujang) was enough for me to savor the taste but not enough to set my tongue on fire. I finished my bowl of rice and ended my dinner with the macaroni salad. 

Finally, when I was ready to pay my bill, I called the food attendant. She told me that my order was paid. My food was billed out! Awesome!

Instead of handing me the bill, the waitress gave me a calling card and said, "He asked me to give this to you..."

And it was the foreign man's calling card...
