Cooling Off and Camping Out at Chalet Hills

No. I am not going out camping at this very hour. But this post is triggered by a friend whom I am exchanging messages with ATM. I guess, it is rather a hasty decision for him to go camping but with the latest heat index ranging from 34-41 degree Centigrade, who would not want to stay up in a cool or cold place at this time of the day or night?
"My big grin in a cool, sunny morning."

How to get to Chalet Hills, Busay?
Most of the time, after a long haul and exhausting climb from Mt. Babag, hikers preferred camping out in Chalet Hills. But if one wants to cut the long hike from Guadalupe to Napo to get to Chalet Hills then one can take an easier route.
"Relaxing and chilling at night"
"Val tagged me along while I tagged Jam and Jo-Anne with me."

From J.Y. Square, ride a jeepney that will take you to Mountain View Park (better have your own private vehicle) then pass by the Temple of Leah. Basically, you just need to follow the cemented road going to the hills. Look for the sign: Norkis (in BOLD Letters) and Babag Crest. Make a slight turn until you reach a small sari-sari store to your right.
"It was a great weekend before going back to work the next day."

The place is already a well-known spot for hikers. The locals are friendly, too.

Anyway, here are the things one should remember when hiking or camping out solo:
1. ALWAYS be vigilant.
We may have different reasons why we hike or climb mountains and camp out. But safety and security is still our common denominator. Always be careful and cautious.

2. Inform. Communicate. Let them know.
Tell your family, friends or significant other where you are going. Send them a message about your whereabouts and tell them who you are with. Just get through that line. If the place has a barangay hall, then you'd better register your name and contact number. It's for their record purposes and for your own sake.

3. Consider all the circumstances.
What if in the middle of the night somebody is trying to get inside your tent and harassed you? What if you heard scowling voices outside? What if you in a long road drive, you ran out of gas or you had a flat tire? Or worst, you met a woman in white trying to hitch a ride in a middle of the night? You can read between the lines, right?

4. Enjoy but Take Note of the Time
Time is important. If you are out there hiking in a place you first visited, be conscious of the time. Otherwise, you wouldn't want to be left pitching your tent at 11 in the evening, right?

5. Prepare your Camping Essentials...
and be sure they are of good conditions. PERIOD.

6. Always Remember the "LNT Principle."
"Leave nothing but Footprints. Take nothing but Photographs. Kill nothing but Time."
